THIS GOVERNMENT AND R&D PRODUCTIVITY UNDER FCA RULES

HM Government set up guidance for 10-year R&D commitment in May 25. Research and development is one of the main areas of focus for The Labour Government Plan for Change. It seeks to redefine an Industrial Strategy.

AT first glance, you may think small firms may be eligible for the R&D grant that has been squeezed out by this Government, as part of the post Brexit reforms. Perhaps it links up to the FCA digital sandbox as part of efforts to get the UK tech scene developed for financial services.

Sickeningly, the reverse is true.

It transpires that the government is only trying to implement this in the public sector, with plans to use longer-term funding to attract skilled researchers, scientists or engineers into the public sector. It is a blow for the private sector, alongside higher taxes and more regulation.

BAT are launching their second version of the AI file checker on 27th June.
