The team
These are the people behind BAT Software
Charlie has spent over 30 years in Financial Services industry, leading businesses to success in a number of disciplines. Graduate of Allied Dunbar in Cheltenham 1992-97, IFA 1997 to 2007, and founder of Financial, a 500 member IFA network that he built and sold in 2014 to what became Sanlam Network. In 2014 he started IFAC, a network for directly authorised advisers. He designed the original software in 2005 to monitor appointed representatives, their business, file checks, audits and commissions. BAT Software is a descendent of that solution, refined and rebuilt several times over. Author of several books, on history and financial services, available on Amazon.
Jason has worked within the Financial Services and Insurance Industries with companies such as Lloyds Banking Group and NFU Mutual for nearly 20 years, and more recently working as Head of Sales within the software market. With a wealth of experience in sales leadership, customer success, and business development, Jason leads BAT Software’s sales strategy by focussing on empowering financial services firms with AI-driven automation, enhancing compliance processes, and maximizing operational efficiency.
Having recently graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a distinction in Financial Technology, Marcelo brings a strong analytical mindset and a passion for leveraging technology to solve complex problems. As an IT & Account Manager at BAT Software, he enjoys working closely with clients to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure seamless software implementation. His tech-savvy and data-driven approach helps businesses optimize their compliance processes while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
Alastair Llewellen Palmer is a graduate of Exeter University and has worked in software for over a year, helping to present solutions to clients.
Dan has over 15 years experience as a software engineer and has been instrumental in architecting and developing the BAT technology solution over the last ten years. Dan comes originally from Ourense, with his family today in Cheltenham, and now provides the technical direction in both the software stack and the hosting security and infrastructure that supports our product offering. Dan spearheads technical direction and is responsible for the product delivery roadmap within BAT.
George is software lead on all BAT projects. George has been coding in a number of languages since 2005, and. like Dan, coming also from Northern Spain has the skills and application to grow BAT.
With unique qualifications in cyber security Alvaro is responsible for secure BAT releases and updates for our clients. Alvaro is able to code in many languages, and originally came to Cheltenham to study Cybersecurity in the hub that has developed in the town, a spin off from the spy headquarters, GCHQ. Based in Cheltenham, Alvaro is responsible for keeping safe and secure the millions of documents stored in the cloud and accessible only via BAT.
