Frequently Asked Questions

From how we stay ahead of regulation to how your data is locked down in the UK, this FAQ breaks down the stuff that really matters: security, AI, pricing, and access control, without the waffle. Clear answers, no hand-waving.

BAT works hand in hand with compliance professionals from IFAC to ensure the platform remains aligned with current regulatory requirements and best practice.

Regulatory updates are managed internally and applied automatically for firms, meaning clients benefit from up-to-date compliance workflows without needing to make manual changes themselves.

Data security is a top priority at BAT.

All data is stored and processed exclusively on UK-based servers and never leaves the UK.

BAT uses industry-standard protections, including AES-256 encryption, two-factor authentication (2FA) for access control, detailed activity logging, and secure hosting via Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This ensures client data is protected at every level, from storage to access.

BAT uses AI to support advisers and compliance teams, not to replace human decision-making.

Our AI is assisted by FCA and compliance guidelines updated regularly to ensure the best context possible. Client data is never used to train AI models. Instead, the technology is designed to analyse documents, extract relevant information, and highlight potential issues for review.

Accuracy is maintained through continuous internal testing, refinement, and human oversight. Final decisions always remain with advisers and compliance professionals, with AI acting as an intelligent support tool to improve consistency, speed, and confidence.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is mandatory for all BAT users. When you log in for the first time, BAT will prompt you to link your account to an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Simply scan the QR code provided and follow the on-screen steps to complete setup. Once enabled, you’ll be asked for a verification code from your authenticator app each time you log in, adding an extra layer of security to your account.
